Kalaheo Rainbow is on a mission. A mission of equality, equity, and inclusion, not only for Pride Month but every single day. The LGBTQ+-focused, student-led organization has period equity on its mind and activism in its bones.
Somewhere Over The Kalaheo Rainbow
Based out of Kalaheo High School in Kailua, Hawaii, Kalaheo Rainbow (the Gay-Straight Alliance club) lead an effort to stock Aunt Flow period products in their school bathrooms and certain classrooms. In a group statement, they said, “Our kuleana is to ensure that all students have their basic health and safety needs met so they can continue to grow in their education, and period products are a crucial part of that!”
Additionally, students and teachers helped contribute to getting SB2821 passed in Hawaii. This law, which was officially signed into effect on June 24, will require a portion of state funding to be given to schools with the intent of those funds being used to procure period products for the entire school.
People Helping People With Periods
It was Aunt Flow’s honor to work with Ma’i Movement to help provide tampons and pads for Kalaheo Rainbow and their remarkable dedication to creating an inclusive space for ALL menstruators.

We’re proud to work with organizations like Kalaheo Rainbow and love the opportunity to brag about the amazing work they’re doing to help make progress for period equity.
