We are committed to period inclusivity.
Aunt Flow promotes period inclusivity, the recognition that not all women have periods, and not all people with periods are women. Approaching menstrual equity shouldn’t be viewed solely through the lens of gender, but as a health issue that affects every person that has a period or knows someone with a period.

Creating Safer Bathroom Spaces
All menstruators deserve safe access to period products when using them, and we’ve learned that privacy and concealment help to create safety. As a result, we recommend that all-gender, single-stall restrooms are stocked with products like thin, concealable pads to establish a safe space for people with periods. As part of our advocacy efforts, we educate ourselves, our customers and partners on inclusivity in restrooms for transgender and gender non-conforming people.

Ensuring Accessibility for All
Period dispensers should be accessible to all people regardless of ability or language. Most other dispensers weren’t designed for people with disabilities to operate because they have turning knobs or require you to insert a quarter. Aunt Flow’s dispensers are free-vend and ADA compliant - no turning knobs!

Language is Important
Many period products on the market still use gendered language which can alienate transgender and non-binary people. That’s why we refer to all pads and tampons as ‘period products,’ rather than ‘feminine hygiene products,’ in hopes of creating more inclusive and kinder spaces. Our dispensers also have braille, English, Spanish, French and iconography showing tampons and pads clearly on the front of the dispenser. It’s a small, but meaningful step to help make the world better for people with periods.

claire coder,
founder + ceo
Hi! I’m Claire. I founded Aunt Flow after getting my period in public without the supplies needed.
Founded in 2016, Aunt Flow is a certified WBENC women-owned company based in Columbus, Ohio. At 18 years old, I dedicated my life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools could sustainably provide quality period products, for free, in bathrooms. Our products are made with 100% organic cotton (no weird stuff) and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact! For every 10 tampons and pads we sell, we donate 1 to a menstruator in need. I call this people helping people. PERIOD.®
