No one should ever be forced to go without proper period care, but that’s exactly the reality that thousands of Nevada menstruators face every day.
Founded in 2019 by Wendi Schweigart, Project Marilyn is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing menstrual equity and improving access to period products for individuals in need across Nevada.
Through donations, advocacy, and partnerships, Project Marilyn works to eliminate period poverty and ensure that menstruation does not hinder anyone’s ability to participate fully in their education and daily life. The nonprofit organization is named after and dedicated to Wendi’s mom, Marilyn.
Making the World Better for People with Periods
Project Marilyn assembles period kits and distributes them to other nonprofits within the community. Each kit contains enough period supplies to carry a menstruator throughout their monthly cycle.
Such nonprofit organizations include the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Dress for Success, The Just One Project, Three Square Food Bank, Shine a Light, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, and local school districts and libraries, among many others.
In addition to period kits, Project Marilyn is dedicated to equipping schools and libraries across the state with Aunt Flow free-vend dispensers and high-quality period products. The organization recently announced the donation of 55 Aunt Flow dispensers to Communities In Schools (CIS) of Southern Nevada to be installed in resource rooms throughout the CIS Elementary school network. This donation marks a significant step forward in ensuring that students have uninterrupted access to essential period supplies at school.
I am extremely proud to partner with Aunt Flow to raise awareness about period poverty in our state of Nevada. When companies like Aunt Flow put their name, image and support behind nonprofits such as ours, it adds a level of credibility to our mission. We are dedicated to providing people with the supplies they need to have a healthy and dignified period, each and every month, and with the support of Aunt Flow we will be able to make an even bigger impact in our community.

Period Action Day
Project Marilyn will be hosting a Period Party® in honor of Period Action Day on October 12. The event, aimed at addressing the needs of those affected by period poverty, will take place at Lexicon Bank. Staff members from Lexicon Bank and other community members will be packing 500 Project Marilyn period kits, filled with Aunt Flow organic cotton pads, for distribution.
As a company dedicated to menstrual equity and access, Aunt Flow couldn’t be more proud of this partnership with Project Marilyn. Together, we can change the world, one cycle at a time.
