Have questions? We have answers.

Review a few of our frequently asked questions below!

What is Aunt Flow’s mission?

Aunt Flow’s mission is to fight period poverty and stigma. Alongside ensuring that businesses and schools offer free period products for employees and students, our donation program supports activist-led pilot program initiatives and various grassroots nonprofit organizations.

Which bathrooms should be stocked with Aunt Flow?

We recommend stocking every female-identified, all gender and male-identified bathrooms with period products.

For male-identified bathrooms, we do not recommend installing our dispensers in visible places inside the actual restroom. This is because privacy creates safe spaces for the transgender community and beyond.

An Aunt Flow Dispenser or Dual Display Box should be placed in the designated stall in the male-identified restroom. A receptacle will also need to be provided in this stall.

What is period poverty?

Period poverty is the lack of access to period products and education. We believe fighting period poverty is one of the most tangible steps we can take toward gender equality!

Will people take more than they need?

If your school or workplace offers toilet paper for free, then advocate for your facilities team to prioritize budgeting for freely accessible period products, too!

When dispensers are first installed in bathrooms, there could be higher than normal usage, which then levels out over time once people learn that period products are not just a one-time luxury item but will be available ongoing.

To prevent the waste or misuse of Aunt Flow period products and dispensers, we have anti-vandalism signage!

How much does it cost?

We recommend estimating product quantities based on supplemental, as-needed period product usage at approximately 5 pieces per menstruator per year. You can use our handy pricing calculator to get a custom quote!

For a one-time individual donation request, you can apply to our donation program.

Where does Aunt Flow ship to?

Through our partnership with our international distribution partner Citron Hygiene, we not only ship to all 50 states but also across Canada and the UK!

Hi! I’m Claire. I founded Aunt Flow after getting my period in public without the supplies needed.

Founded in 2016, Aunt Flow is a certified WBENC women-owned company based in Columbus, Ohio. At 18 years old, I dedicated my life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools could sustainably provide quality period products, for free, in bathrooms. Our products are made with organic cotton (no weird stuff) and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact! For every 10 tampons and pads we sell, we donate 1 to a menstruator in need. I call this people helping people. PERIOD.®
