Did you know that our pads and tampons are covered by Flexible Spending, Health Saving, and Health Reimbursement Accounts?
With the passage of the CARES Act in 2020, period products are (finally!) FSA- and HSA-eligible. That means you can purchase Aunt Flow period care with pre-tax dollars!
What are Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts?
Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA) are accounts that let you set aside money before it’s been taxed to help pay for health and medical expenses. Both FSAs and HSAs have annual contribution limits and offer tax benefits. If you don’t know if you have an FSA or HSA, check with your insurance company or employer.
The Difference Between FSA and HSA Plans
FSA: A Flexible Spending Account is an employee benefit that you can enroll in under the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program. Your FSA dollars expire by the end of the year.
HSA: A Health Savings Account is an investment account administered by your health insurance and only available to members enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). With these plans, your dollars roll over year-to-year and don’t expire.
The good news? You can use your FSA and HSA dollars to stock up on organic cotton period products like Aunt Flow!
