Mark your calendars, besties! Period Action Day (PAD) 2025 is coming up on October 11! This global day of celebration is all about raising awareness, sparking conversations and taking action to advance menstrual equity.
Whether you’re part of a student organization, campus health office or just passionate about making a difference, there are so many ways to get involved—and to make sure no one on your campus is left without access to period products.
Here are some creative and impactful ideas to help you celebrate Period Action Day this year:
1. Host a Free Period Product Giveaway
Nothing starts a conversation faster than free stuff. Set up a table in a high-traffic area on campus and hand out free pads, tampons, stickers and pins. Include QR codes linking to resources about menstrual health, menstrual equity and your school’s period product program.
2. Spread the Word With Campus Signage
Make your period program visible! Hang posters in restrooms, student centers and residence halls to let students know where they can find free products on campus.
We’ve got you covered with free digital downloadable signage options that you can print and place in the bathrooms stocked with Aunt Flow:
- Do Not Flush Sign – English
- Do Not Flush Sign – Spanish
- Educational Bathroom Sign – English
- Mirror Cling Signage

Pro tip: Always include where your Aunt Flow dispensers can be found—restroom locations, building names or even QR codes linking to campus maps.
3. Screen a Period-Positive Film
Host a movie night featuring documentaries like Period. End of Sentence. to spark discussion. Add snacks, a quick Q&A at the end, and voila! You’ve got an easy, educational event.
4. Throw a Period Packing Party
Gather supplies, recruit volunteers and assemble period kits with pads, tampons and other essentials for distribution to a local shelter, nonprofit or food pantry. Bonus: packing parties are the perfect environment for photo-ops!

5. Rally Students for Advocacy Events
Encourage students to attend local or national advocacy events hosted by PERIOD. or other menstrual equity organizations. It’s a powerful way to see the movement in action—and connect with others making change.
6. Set Up a Letter-Writing Station
Bring advocacy to campus by helping students write letters to their representatives in support of menstrual equity legislation. A table, some talking points and pre-addressed envelopes make it super easy to take action on the spot. Signed, sealed, delivered!

7. Organize a Panel or Product Drive
Host a conversation with campus leaders, health experts and advocates to discuss access to period products. Feel free to pair it with a product drive to collect donations to maximize your impact.
Check out how Google supported menstrual equity in this case study with a “Let’s Talk About Periods” panel!

8. Hold a Teach-In or Workshop
Plan an interactive session on menstrual health, equity and advocacy. These events create space for learning and can spark lasting student involvement.
9. Paint the Campus Red
Encourage students to wear red for the day to show support. You can even set up a mini photo booth with props and use the photos captured for social media posts!

10. Partner With Student Organizations
Collaborate with groups focused on reproductive justice, gender equity or public health to boost your impact. Co-hosting events makes them bigger, better and more visible (and more hands to help!).
However you choose to celebrate Period Action Day, the goal is simple: start conversations, share resources and take action to make your campus period-friendly. Together, we can break the stigma and ensure everyone has access to the products they need.
