Free Pads and Tampons in Missouri

Free Period Products in Missouri Schools

March 22, 2023

Missouri is ON THE MOVE!

Thanks to new state funding, Missouri school districts will provide free pads and tampons to students in grades 6-12!

Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education now has $1 MILLION to reimburse schools for the cost of period products.

Through the new program, each district in Missouri will receive at least $500.

Bart Washer, the Interim Assistant Commissioner with the Office of College and Career Readiness, said each Missouri school has some flexibility in the types of products they provide to their students, from pads and tampons to menstrual cups.

We have heard stories about students not being able to fund these products for themselves,” Washer said. “The fact that they can stay in school because they now have access to products that they need, we can focus on that level of care to help them continue learning.

Hi! I’m Claire. I founded Aunt Flow after getting my period in public without the supplies needed.

Founded in 2016, Aunt Flow is a certified WBENC women-owned company based in Columbus, Ohio. At 18 years old, I dedicated my life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools could sustainably provide quality period products, for free, in bathrooms. Our products are made with organic cotton (no weird stuff) and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact! For every 10 tampons and pads we sell, we donate 1 to a menstruator in need. I call this people helping people. PERIOD.®
