Tropicana Field officially reopened on April 6 after extensive hurricane repairs, marking a fresh start for the Tampa Bay Rays and their fans.
Just a few days later, as the Tampa Bay Rays face the Yankees at Tropicana Field on April 10, Aunt Flow teamed up with the Rays to make that reopening even more meaningful through a Period Party and ceremonial first pitch thrown by Aunt Flow Founder and CEO Claire Coder.
The result? Free-vend period products across the stadium, a community-powered event, and an inclusive and accessible fan experience.
The Opportunity
After a $60M restoration, the Rays weren’t just reopening a stadium—they were rethinking what a great fan experience looks like.
Because here’s the thing: Fans expect clean bathrooms. They expect soap. They expect toilet paper. So why not period products?
With a growing push across sports and public spaces to treat menstrual care as a basic necessity, the Rays saw an opportunity to lead, not follow.
The Solution
Making Period Products a Stadium Standard
The Rays partnered with Aunt Flow to install 52 free-vend dispensers across all women’s and single-stall restrooms.

This made Tropicana Field the first baseball stadium in Florida to offer free period products as a restroom essential, and the first MLB stadium to offer them in all women’s and single-stall restrooms.
The Period Party
On April 10, Aunt Flow and the Tampa Bay Rays brought the impact off the field and into the community by hosting a high-energy Period Party at Tropicana Field.
Together with the Rays’ Women’s ERG, players’ spouses, and local partners, we packed 500 period kits filled with organic cotton pads and tampons, all of which were distributed to support Starting Right, Now—an organization serving teens experiencing homelessness across the Tampa Bay area.
After the Period Party, Aunt Flow Founder and CEO Claire Coder took the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch!
A Growing Movement
The Rays join a growing trend where sports venues are paying more attention to guest experience, fan comfort, and period-product access as an ADA-compliant restroom essential.
The Chicago White Sox baseball team, which has a growing female fan base, installed Aunt Flow dispensers in 11 locations across its home stadium, Rate Field, back in 2024.
Other stadiums that stock Aunt Flow dispensers include GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Petco Park, and Gillette Stadium.
Providing period products in the restrooms at Tropicana Field helps create a more inclusive and accessible environment for all fans, ensuring that no one has to miss part of the game or feel uncomfortable because of a basic health need.
