How Aunt Flow Is Battling The Tampon Shortage

Aunt Flow vs. The Great Tampon Shortage of 2022

Amidst the litany of supply chain issues plaguing the world at large, The Great Tampon Shortage of 2022 is the latest and most troubling trend facing menstruators. From small shops to national convenience and drug stores like CVS, shelves are bare, lacking the precious products people on their periods need.

We are proud to share that Aunt Flow is not currently experiencing any production or delivery issues for our tampons and pads. We have built robust operations and a supply chain team that works daily to keep products moving to customers. Thanks to their hard work, we are making our Applicator Tampons (50 ct.) available for purchase for your home. Mother Nature never waits, and neither should you.

A Statement From Aunt Flow CEO and Founder, Claire Coder

I am proud to say that Aunt Flow period products are fully stocked, against all odds, as the Great Tampon Shortage sweeps the nation.

Cotton prices have surged, ports are closed, and the supply chain continues to worsen; the Aunt Flow team has worked tirelessly to ensure everyone has access to basic necessities.

Periods don’t stop, so neither do we.

Aunt Flow continues to add new clients to the menstrual movement and deliver to our 500+ customers and 23k+ bathrooms. We are not halting donations to organizations that support menstruators in need. We are working harder, moving faster, and increasing access.”

Claire Coder, Aunt Flow CEO

Aunt Flow Is Here For You

This is hardly our first rodeo adjusting to the world around us. In 2020, we were able to deliver masks when no one else could at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, we will bring tampons to those who need them most.

While some manufacturers assure menstruators that the shortage is only temporary, only some products and specific brands may be available in stores. We know firsthand how vital period products are, including those who rely on our donation program. We are committed to fulfilling all deliveries for customers and our donation partners.

Periods don’t care about a tampon shortage, and we’re here to ensure bathroom goers don’t have to worry about finding their next tampon. Although cotton prices have skyrocketed and the supply chain continues to worsen, the Aunt Flow team is working tirelessly to ensure everyone has access to basic necessities. Thank you for entrusting us with the health and well-being of your students, employees, and guests; we won’t let you down.

Hi! I’m Claire. I founded Aunt Flow after getting my period in public without the supplies needed.

Founded in 2016, Aunt Flow is a certified WBENC women-owned company based in Columbus, Ohio. At 18 years old, I dedicated my life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools could sustainably provide quality period products, for free, in bathrooms. Our products are made with organic cotton (no weird stuff) and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact! For every 10 tampons and pads we sell, we donate 1 to a menstruator in need. I call this people helping people. PERIOD.®
