Arizona Includes Period Product Funding for the 2023-2024 School Year

Arizona Includes Period Product Funding for the 2023-2024 School Year

January 10, 2024

For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Arizona has included $2 million in the Department of Education budget for period products as part of Senate Bill 1720

Also known as the Feminine Hygiene Products Grant or the Dot Project, this is a one-time appropriation by the state legislature for the 2023-2024 school year.

Although no legislation has been passed in Arizona to require that schools provide free period products, this funding will significantly impact the ability of K-12 public and charter schools to offer such essentials.

Use of Funding

Schools can use this funding to go toward:

  • The purchase of pads and tampons
  • The purchase, installation and maintenance of period product dispensers
  • The purchase, installation and maintenance of disposal receptacles for products

If you’re an Arizona school, you can apply for funding at gme.azed.gov 🧡

Hi! I’m Claire. I founded Aunt Flow after getting my period in public without the supplies needed.

At 18 years old, I dedicated my life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools could sustainably provide quality period products, for free, in bathrooms. Our products are made with organic cotton and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact! Since 2021, we've donated over 6 MILLION period products to menstruators in need. I call this people helping people. PERIOD.®
