Apply for a Donation

Each year, our incredible Donation Program recipients help us continue making the world better for people with periods. For every 10 products we sell, we are able to donate 1 to a menstruator in need. And yet, we continue to receive more donation requests than we could possibly fulfill.

In 2023, we have set a new goal to ensure that our Donation Program is working effectively and making a significant positive impact across the country. In the past, we have distributed donations based on chronological order. Starting this year, our team is going to begin vetting each request to ensure that the products are going to individuals and/or organizations that we feel will have a significant impact on their lives/communities.

Before you get started with applying for a donation, we highly encourage you to read through some of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Individual Donation Program.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many products can I receive?

Every donation recipient will receive 1,000 products.

When will I find out if my donation request is going to be fulfilled?

In the past, we have fulfilled donation requests every April and November. In 2023, we are going to begin fulfilling donation requests 3 times per year – April, August, and December.

Here’s a helpful way to think about it:

  • If you submit an application between January and April, you will hear from us by April.
  • If you submit an application between May and August, you will hear from us by August.
  • If you submit an application between August and December, you will hear from us by December.

When will I receive my donation?

Once your application has been accepted, our team will process your request. You will receive a payment link to cover the shipping costs. Once payment has been received, you should receive your donation within 15-20 business days.

What are the dimensions of the donation cases in inches?

Can I submit a payment order (PO) for my donation request?

No, we are unable to accept POs for our donation product.

Do I have to pay for shipping?

Yes, we do require all donation recipients to cover the cost of shipping. Typically, this is about 30-40 USD.

When one of our customers purchases 10 products, we donate 1. Can those customers choose what organization receives those donated products?

No, right now we do not offer this as an option. When our customers purchase 10 products, 1 product will be donated either to our Signature Donation Partner or through our Individual Donation Program.

What’s the difference between Signature Donation Partners and the Individual Donation Program?

As of 2023, we have contractual agreements with eight Signature Donation Partners. These are non-profit partners that fight period poverty in communities across the US. They are vetted to ensure products are provided to those in need and are inclusive of minorities including POC and LGBTQIA+.

Our Individual Donation Program, allows us to partner with smaller organizations and individuals that are looking to make a difference in their communities. We can provide 1,000 products per individual, per year through this program.

Does Aunt Flow donate products to people and organizations outside of the United States of America?

No, at this time all donations are allocated to people that reside in the United States.

Does Aunt Flow donate free-vend dispensers?

No, we are unable to donate our dispensers. If you’re interested creating a steady and scalable period program at your organization, please contact tyler@goauntflow.com to learn more.

When one of our customers purchases 10 products, we donate 1. Can those customers choose what organization receives those donated products?

No, right now we do not offer this as an option. When our customers purchase 10 products, 1 product will be donated either to our Signature Donation Partner or through our Individual Donation Program.

founder + ceo

Hi! I’m Claire. I founded Aunt Flow after getting my period in public without the supplies needed.

Founded in 2016, Aunt Flow is a certified WBENC women-owned company based in Columbus, Ohio. At 18 years old, I dedicated my life to developing a solution to ensure businesses and schools could sustainably provide quality period products, for free, in bathrooms. Our products are made with organic cotton (no weird stuff) and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact! For every 10 tampons and pads we sell, we donate 1 to a menstruator in need. I call this people helping people. PERIOD.®
